[THROUGH THE NIGHT]

THROUGH THE NIGHT

“If no one else will hold you, hold yourself, but make it through the night.”
- Daniel Beaty from THROUGH THE NIGHT

Through the Night is the story of six interconnected black males ages 10 – 60: a child scientist, a young man from the projects on his way to college, an ex-convict, a corporate executive, a health food store owner, and the Bishop of a mega church – and the people who love them as they make it Through the Night.  They all experience an unexpected phenomenon on the same evening that changes their lives forever and challenges them to tackle issues of education, addiction, finance, and mental & physical health. Featuring Obie Award Winner Daniel Beaty’s unique blend of music, poetry, comedy, & drama, Through the Night is an urgent, timely story of possibility and hope.  The performance is 80 minutes and can be performed with two armless chairs and basic house lighting.

“Did I say the monologue was seamless?  It was brilliant.”
- Suzie Brozman, The Jewish Times

“He remains a moving and eloquent performer, fully convinced of the power of theater to heal hearts and change lives.”
- Wendell Brock, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
